We were asked to create a monograph on a word that we chose at random. My word was 'Energy' and this was the result. I would like to have another attempt at this to take a slightly different direction. Click the link below to see it.

Muckle Toon Adventure
We were asked to create an Identity for Muckle Toon Adventure Festival. This is my response. I wanted it to all look handmade and organic. I have some changes I would like to make to it but for now these are my finals.

My Manifesto - The outcome
Final pictures of my manifesto ticket book. It was created to encourage people to live their lives the way I like to live mine. See (http://www.laurengriffindesigns.co.uk/ManifestoChallenge.html) for a more detailed description. Overall I am pleased with the way it turned out and I'm pleased with the cleanliness of the final product.
My Manifesto
My Manifesto
1.
Be superstitious –
It prevents accidents. Don’t wear matching socks, walk over three drains, walk
under ladders, put new shoes on the table, put up umbrellas inside. The list is
endless.
2.
‘Be kind, for everyone you meet is
fighting their battle too’ – Treat people well and eventually they will
return the favor.
3.
‘Remember that guy that gave up?
Neither does anybody else!’ – Giving up isn’t the answer to anything.
Nothing worth having comes easy.
4.
Don’t take life too seriously –
No one gets out alive anyway.
5.
I will continue to daydream –
It’s my way of getting away from reality, even if it is just for a minute or
so.
6.
I hope that in the future –
no matter what job I have. I will always try my best.
7.
I will always be sarcastic –
taking things seriously gets boring.
8.
I will always ask stupid, dumb
questions
– I get laughed at, but I never forget the answer.
9.
I will always make mistakes – I
learn more from failing and making mistakes than I do by doing everything
right.
10. ‘Always
do sober what you said you’d do drunk’ – This will teach me to keep my
mouth shut.
11. If
events in my life ever made me smile – There is no
reason why I should have any feeling of regret towards it.
12. I
make my own fate – I will always have decisions to make, some
harder than others but they have to be made. Maybe not always the right choice
but everything happens for a reason.
13. Laugh
at myself
– I will laugh at my own expense. When I fall over, when I say something stupid
– laughter is the only cure for being humiliated.
14. Take
one day at a time – Be spontaneous. Be surprised. A lack
of organisation isn’t always a bad thing.
15. Karma –
What goes around comes around.
16. I
will keep positive – Being negative gets you nowhere.
17. ‘Be
nice to people on your way to the top. Because they will be the ones that catch
you on the way down’
18. When
I laugh so much my cheeks hurt – This is when I know it’s been
a good day.
19. ‘Everything
will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright then it’s not the end’ –
This is what I live for the most.
20. At
least once a year – I will pack up my bags get a tent
and go camping. Sitting in the fresh air with a beer, friends and the sun is
the most relaxing thing I could ever do.
University of Cumbria - Logo ReDesign.
We were given from 10am til 1pm to re design the University of Cumbria logo and then show the transformation in 5 simple steps. Here is my attempt.
D&AD entry - Female Whisky
D&AD competition brief to come up with a Whisky product aimed at women. I created 'tipple' using a feminine mottle shape and including a free hip flask aimed at women. Something handy to put in our handbags for a night out.

Lack of blogging.
I have yet again abandoned the blog. But I haven't had that much to put on. But today we were set a one day brief, we had to create 4 different posters for meltdown festival. Each one had different requirements. We had from 10AM till 5PM to create them, as much as it was stressful I actually enjoyed it. I'll put the requirements on tomorrow.
